Friday - tea for one

This afternoon P came home a little early and whisked Lily off for a walk to the park (and the local Farmers Shop) so that I could have a little rest. Before he came, Lily and I made rock cakes (from Jane Brocket's recipe).

I haven't had a rock cake since primary school, when they used to be sold in my school canteen. I must say that these ones, with their delicious fresh nutmeg and lemon zest, are a bit of a cut above the ones that they sold back then.

Now, I am off to enjoy my 'tea for one' and a bit of another lovely Jane on DVD.

I hope that you have a lovely weekend.

Mothers Day weekend (almost EDIM Photos 6 & 7 and more)

Weekend highlights: some face paint :: a 'bit' of sorbet (yes! that is chocolate, dairy-free sorbet) :: some running :: more autumn leaves :: kooky entertainment :: some dancing :: a little bit of reptile & amphibian love :: a giant slide :: and some cuddles.

I hope that you all had a lovely weekend and I hope that all of you mothers had an especially lovely Sunday.

A little goodness

How nice is it to receive a package in the mail? Especially when it is full of goodness.

I have been drooling over most of the stuff in Leslie's Etsy shop for months and months now and when she announced a 30% sale I decided that my time had come. First I got a little packet of stamps for Lily (& I) to play with and then I selected a modest little selection of cute fabric.

When it all arrived (this morning! Who knew they delivered on a Saturday?) I was so happy with what I had chosen. I just love the feel of the linen blends and those elephants are just so incredibly cute.

The only trouble that I face now is in deciding what to do with it...

P.S. Leslie is closing up her shop (to move home to Canada) and is now having a 40% off sale on most of her products. So pop over there for a look around if you like lovely fabric. (She also has a lovely blog).
