Yesterday evening I went for a walk around the lake with my good friend Angela. Canberra is a pretty beautiful place in Autumn and it is especially so around Lake Burley Griffin. The reds, yellows & oranges of the leaves look glorious set against Canberra's eternally blue sky. Then it all gets reflecting in the lake and the result is really quite special.
However, what I like even more is watching the sun set after such a perfect blue sky day. The slow decent into nighttime is just stunning. I remember when I was feeling especially homesick, while living in the States as a teenager, I would see the sun setting over the lake in my mind and yearn just to look at it again. Odd, I know. But there you have it.
